Get a clipon mirror to eliminate the blind spot.
I know the blind spot on the passenger side is dangerous. For me, the passenger headrest completely block the rear window. I can mitigate that by moving the seat forward but i often drive with my wife so she has to move the seat back thus block the rear window.
So I got this Clip-On mirror for only $10 from Amazon. It just clipped on to the rearview mirror. And now I could see what would be the entire blind spot on the ClipOn. You should definitely try it. You don't have to buy from amazon. a good auto zone would carry it. Amazon.com: K Source RM011 18" Clip-on Wide Angle Rearview Mirror: Automotive |
I just use the mirror's... Just lean forward......

the reflection in mirror is smaller than they usually appear on factory mirrors so it kinda throws you off how far the car behind/next to you really are.
but those mirrors make a good security mirror for garages. :D |
Those mirrors look like they add 50hp easy.

I've found that proper side mirror adjustment leads to excellent around-car views. In fact, when I drive other cars, I feel like I see cars on my sides less well than I do in my 370.

i use the mirror, i got the Broadway mirrors which are really nice, they work good.

I know once people use it, they would never drive without one. |
*sigh* Adjust your mirrors correctly and you won't have a blind spot.

This how-to helped me drastically. I was paranoid to change lanes when I got the 370, but setting the mirrors with this method has made it very comfortable. It's a little weird at first, but it does work.

Yeah its weird when you can only see the road and not the back bumper, oh well better then swiping cars. |
For people that haven't adjusted driving a Z, Adding mirrors just makes it look lame.

When set "properly", you should be able to look in your passenger (I do driver as well) side mirror and see a car approaching and before it goes out of view in the mirror it's already within view of the side window. :tiphat: |
You could always get one of these.... :icon14:

this is the one i use, works great, i do lean forward and turn my head also, etc. I don't think of it as "rice" as it does serve a purpose. |
I like my Broadway mirror in my Honda, but it doesn't help as much in the Z. I just do the lean instead

Hated1 and BoostLee, can you guys post pics of your Broadway mirrors? I am interested in buying one for my Z and I just want to see how it will look like. I measured the clearance from visor to visor and we have a little over a foot clearance.

i find the Z side mirrors are huge and the large size makes up for the tiny rear window that gets blocked by the passenger seat anyway. but yea, i learned to just lean forward and then i can see the blind spot much better.
