ive got a magnetic black 09 370 with black emblems im pretty sure they will look good but cant pull the trigger

ZCarMan 07-06-2010 05:46 PM

Just do it.

Emotiongear 07-06-2010 05:47 PM

Dont do it.

Powdercoating stock wheels = bad rice

DAGRACING 07-06-2010 05:51 PM

dang 2 different inputs still undecided i think im gonna go ahead n do it i can always buy new wheels

Mike 07-06-2010 06:14 PM

As a professional powdercoated who doesn't do wheels, I'm torn at what to tell you. If someone besides me is doing them, then yes, definitely, but wheels are so ethnic I hate to do so I only do them for myself.

DeLRo 07-06-2010 06:33 PM

What color are you going to do?

tomnavone 07-06-2010 06:40 PM

Do it!

DAGRACING 07-06-2010 07:45 PM

gloss black since i did my emblems tht color n i will also get whoever powdercoats em to do the door handles to match wheels, thanks for the replies zcar, mike n tom

Phimosis 07-07-2010 08:06 PM

I did it. I like it. I even added some crazy pinstripe and still like it. Dig back a year ago in the wheels sections and I have more pics.

BTW, if you do the wheels, your door handles will stand out like a sore thumb. The cost on the door handles was more than the wheels.

Nothing wrong with powdercoating. The stock Rays are hot! I am going to PC my wheels to hold me over until I get rims.

blastman5 07-08-2010 03:42 AM

handles will have to be painted, as they are plastic. The bodyshop I use charged me 390 to remove and reinstall plus paint the handles and taillights.

Not much stock rims look like the 370z sport wheels so I'm guessing not much people think they are stock. Its just us 370z owners freaking ourselves out thinking people will know.

fuct 07-09-2010 01:19 AM

im thinking of PC my nismo rims volk bronze..... to each his own

Ya... I get a bunch of ppl asking what kind of rims they are and where I got them. They find it hard to believe that they are stock.

elmz 07-09-2010 12:57 PM

I'm thinking of powder coating mine too. But I agree powder coating some stock wheels do look ricey, but then again these aren't your typical stock wheels. Its funny because I was day dreaming the other day customizing a Porche Cayman S and they actually powder coat wheels as an option :icon17:

Mike 07-09-2010 08:43 PM

I don't think these stock (350z) wheels on my car look ricey at all, but then, if I did, I wouldn't have them on there.

My street set, maybe slightly, although they are Nismos, and not really stock, but its for my business.
