2theextreme, you don't mind me asking where did u get your headlights done and how much ?

kenchan 07-06-2010 03:04 PM

spearfish- just e-tape the area before you slide the fang cover on and it's no issue.

if you do the Evo-R, you want to e-tape just under the grill so that the paint doesn't show through when you put theirs on. ive seen a couple different ones and they both work fine if you do this. the370z store one has a verticle lip to cover the paint/gap and it's a nice idea.

Thanks man. The rear diffuser is DEF on my list (next cf product). It'll complete the look. As for rear spoiler, I think Mines cf lip would look much better (easier to install too) than total cf spoiler, what you think?

The mine's add-on would look good. Would be funny if you got the CF spoiler and the mine's add-on...lol... maybe Tony will do that. :bowrofl:

Hey ak if u want an idea on what an oem style cf hood looks like. Check my build thread. Fitment is perfect. Also there is a group buy for mines rear lip and I think we need a couple more people lol.

Thanks. Will do. :tiphat:

Hey AK,

Nice work. How does the fang overlay look up near the top of the fangs. In one pic, it looks like some blue paint is still visible. Is this an issue at all, or not noticeable?

I didn't notice it until you pointed it out. Unless you sit down and get really close, it's not visible at all. In this pic, I'm actually shooting from an angle (bottom to top) therefore it looks more obvious.

That would be perfect! I never had spacer in my car. Does it affect handling at the track during high speed turning (or during excessive force?)

Headlight is probably next (after rear diffuser). We'll see. I'm running out of budget associated with the car :eekdance:

AK can you take pics from 50 and 100 feet away?

Cmike2780 07-08-2010 02:43 PM

Would the fang overlays look good on a MB. I was thinking of getting it, but wasn't shure if it would be as noticable since you wouldn't have the contrast in color.

Update

So, it's been a week since I installed these products. The front fang and side mirrors are holding up great! However I can't say the same about one of my B Pillar (driver side). Top part kinda came off. So, I took it off and upon further investigation, I found out these DID NOT come with 3m VHB tapes. They came with regular double sided tape. Also, the tape is VERY thin. So, I took the overlay off. Cleaned the OEM BPillar surface. Used some of my OWN 3M VHB .45 mil tape and put it back on. It was perfect! :D. I was so impressed with it the install, I pulled the passenger side overlay off and redid it with the new tapes. Two big benefits of these new tapes:

a. The bond will be very very strong. In about 48-72 hours (when set in), if you pull hard on these overlays, chances are the whole B pillar will come off (or they will be in two pieces) !

b. Thief can ONLY steal what they can take off :happydance:.

I bought my 3M VHB tapes from this guy on EBAY. Pretty cheap.

However, the fit of these overlays are perfect. If you're standing next to them and you're unaware of this thread, I can probably get away with saying, "these whole cf B Pillars". You CAN NOT tell the difference!

Ready to install!

Since it rained yesterday, I polished all the cf stuff up today  I really wasn't sure what to use (also too lazy to go to nearest auto store). I simply used NXT 2.0. Worked pretty good IMO
