first the carid one use wat they call 'real' carbon fiber but the weaves look like shitty steelwool strands and very small. the overall thickness is about 1.5mm so it's a huge HERE I PUT A STICKER ON TOP OF MY TRIM look. at least the EvoR and Fujimura's CF look very high quality and clean. the strands and color are perfect. ive seen the curiuos models and i like the door handles and their gauge hats. but i dont foresee me spending that kind of money on CF bits when we know they dont do any more than just make the interior look nicer... so in that respect, i think the 3M sheets are by far best bang for buck and makes the most sense cause we're not trying to fake anything. |

I noticed today that the sun might be affecting my head unit piece. I think the car is getting too hot during the day while I'm at work. It's looks perfect though.

Hey kenchan, do you think there is a better way to apply these vinyls? Like I've been thinking about it and it's either cut a template which is still too big then cut it against the car after it's applied. Or like how I did the head unit in carbon, the area around the circles I kinda had to cut right on it. You can't see any scratches cus the carbon covers it, but it's still there. I'm going to order more and do the vanity mirrors like u did, then maybe my shifter ring. The only thing the sucks is the s-mode & emergency light buttons. I have a piece of tint from a messed up bluebatmobile order that I was thinking of putting over the buttons, maybe.

afterwards cut a hole in the trim openings about 1/2" from the edges and them wrap it over onto the back side. then take the HU out and replace the trim all together. i learned from doing the G's rear valance that these vinyls stretch and form very well with the right amount of heat. i DONT think the pro's are wasting time making a precise template other than for the door switches and other bits in the car that will take more time to remove/install than the wrap itself. if i was to wrap the door switches using minimal time would be to make the templates for the switch openings on a retangular sheet of vinyl, then just apply the vinyl, cut the vinyl about 1/2" around the primeter of the trim and wrap it to the back side. honestly if you already have a template, it would take no more than 5min to do the switch covers. |

NewYorkJon- i think we should talk about the wrapping techniques on the 3M NiDoc thread and not on EvoR's door cover thread.

Both version have no key hole. If battery dies you can still left the cover and replace it back on. Depends on how much 3M you put on. PMed.
