Navi interior
Hey everyone, I was wondering if someone could post up a pic with the navi pkg in the Z. A night time shot or a daytime, but the Navi must be on. Any help would be appreciated.:p

Hey Devil heres a quick shot of the Nav screen. Sorry for the crappy quality, I took it with my iphone. Let me know if you need a different angle or something higher res. It's a great nav system, much better than my Acura was.

Looks like a cool video game
|
LOL! Yeah, it always reminds me of some of the earlier atari machines.

Too bad the nav does not come with a different 3rd guage versus the lame digital clock. Even just having an analog one with orange hands to match the other guages would look better imho. The nav has the time display option so that would cover a digital read out.
A large part of why I got the nav pkg was for the looks and have something to play with. Like the way it operates better than the one Lexus or BMW was using. Do not know how it compares to the newly released ones from those two since they have improved their offerings considerably. My guess is the Nissan one is behind them now. |
Hoping not to be too off topic but how is the accuracy? specifically, ever have troubles with 'frontage roads' that parallel the highway? I use to use iguidance, which was pretty dang good at noticing one from the other, but my current Pioneer Avic F90BT is absolutely useless noticing when I forget/miss the exit. I've noticed missed exits and frontage roads to be the acid test for navi systems.

OK, here you go - beware it is long. Felt very dorky commentating a nav video. I actually feel a little bad for slamming "Mr. S-Mode" since it is easy to accidently B.S. when you are trying to say what stuff does on the fly. But feeling bad only lasted a moment because it still cracks me up every time I listen to his youtube.
BIG DISCLAIMER Nothing in here is claimed to be factual. I have only had the car for a couple of days and the way I describe something could be completely off. |
:excited: Cheers mate, you are king! :excited:
I want that navi! I'll get the 370Z later, but I want that navi now! That thing is heads above my f90bt, quicker, better looking, you name it. Thanks again for making the video, cute joke, and dictation wasn't bad it all. When it seems like every kid with a webcam thinks he's hot stuff, yours was clean and clear. Love to see more of em ;) |

Thanks for doing this. Looks like a much nicer nav system than in my 2007 350. A few more questions: - Does it give you caller ID on the screen for incoming calls? - Can you cycle through previous destinations while the car is moving? My 07 only lets you cycle through the at 5 destinations that fit on the screen - it does not let you cycle through more previous destination listings than that while moving. - And can you look up restaurants and such while moving? What about adding a destination address while moving? |

Great Video, one thing bothers me, why is the clock in the gauge cluster out of sync with the clock on the Nav screen?

Awesome video! Thanks for taking the time to put that together.

-Previous destination -Nearby places (restaurants, gas, etc) -Address book -Previous start point -Stored destinations It works real nice from the steering control. On my previous car, the damn thing was basically worthless once you were moving except for stored destinations. |
Booooo what happened to the video?

Thanks a lot friend |

They had the navi on retarded map mode and zoomed way in - was not sure how to get it to bird's eye. Feel free to browse other pic in my album. http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...G/370z-150.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...G/370z-155.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...G/370z-147.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...G/370z-148.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...G/370z-166.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...G/370z-149.jpg |

I came from using iGuidance 4, which was a lot better at handling frontage roads. I'm pretty sure it had a tolerance engine that would make decisions about whether or not to 'snap to' the highway/road based on sat accuracy, speed, and nearby roads. The unit I use now on the other hand i think just has the blanket "if the gps says it's within 5 meters of the road, it must be on the road". Of course all the construction in/around Houston doesn't help at all. How did the head of DOT put it? Something like "doing open heart surgery without bypass and with the patient fully conscious?" Thank god I don't have to commute...yet. Edit: I'm liking the Z red interior lighting more and more. I use to hate all red, associated it with that BMW/Merc (can't remember which) red in the late 90's interiors. That was a really blood red and I just hated it for whatever reason. I think the Z's is more orange, more subdued and soft. Not a huge fan of the Mustang green. Nice real life pics for letting me see that orange/red. can you put the CF cover back on after you put a card in or is it a 'blank' that takes up the slot? |
