You have to be careful if you had your car repainted, but a new car from the factory the paint has already been on it for a long time before you get it.

I try to do a meticulous wax job when I first get it to make sure that bug splatter and road grime comes off easy. Typically your dealer will do this for you on a new car but that don't necessarily do a great job so you're better off telling them not to and doing it yourself.
