Chin spoiler - is this part of the sports pkg?

I'm considering removing my chin spoiler, I haven't even lowered the car yet and it's scraping on my driveway if I'm not careful.

Jersey roads suck big time. That's why mine is in the attic. Not sure if I want to put it on because it'll just get damaged.

Does anyone have a picture of one w/o the chin spoiler?

I don't have a pic at the moment but it will look like mine!

I've confirmed that my 7AT Touring with the sport package does not have the front chin spoiler...what it does have is a "lip" that looks very, very similar to the 350Z spoiler. I don't know for sure but it looks to me as if the sport package front chin spoiler will sit "in front" of the basic lip I have.

Our center here at the plant told me this morning that these are supposed to be put on at the port of entry but that many of the early ones (I picked up mine in early January) didn't get tehm installed...so...they are ordering me the spoiler and I should have it in a couple of weeks.

If not one has posted one by then, I'll take a pic tonight and post it.

Okay AK, you're crack'n me up now...that sacrificial edge molding on the chin spoiler! C'mon now, that molding is going to end up being wound around some kid's bicycle hub as it throws him from his seat after entanglement! My advice then: drive away slowly.

Hmmm, it doesn't look too bad without it.

Thanks for the pics!

I agree; they car doesn't look bad at all without it and I'd be happy with mine the way it is...then again, I do like the way the chin spoiler looks and the way the car looks with it and since I'm paying for it, I want it.

Default Chin spoiler removal

Has anyone here been able to remove their front chin spoiler? I'm having difficulty in removing the rivets and was hoping someone could help me out. Thanks!

Normally I'd use a drill bit for pop rivets but this case was different. At first I tried a grinding cone but all that did was spin the rivet around and heat up the plastic (and melted it). I ended up using the bit in the picture below, it worked great.

What is that tool called? I take it we need to destroy the rivets in order to remove the chin spoiler? Assuming rivet destruction is necessary and the only way to remove the chin, won't that leave tiny fragments of rivet inside the front bumper rolling around?

Right now, I'm just thinking of grinding or sanding off an inch from the chin spoiler. Although, that may end up destroying the chin anyway.

+1 on scraping... I scrape going in and out of my driveway if i'm not doing this 1) going slow or 2) going up at an angle. But my house DOES have an abnormally high drainage lip/edge (whatever you call it).
