please help!!! My V1 radar detector is not working
 

Hi,
I just got my V1 today and it is not working well.
I drove pass several cops today but it is not responding.
Did I set it wrong?
Which mode should I leave on? All, logic or advanced logic?
Is there anything I should do with it?
Help please!!!

I have been thinking of that too, but there are 3 of them.
they are all off???

Leave it on all when you're driving out of the city/freeway. Logic or advanced logic will be fine on city streets since it filters out most of the other interferences from shopping center doors, etc. It will not trigger if you're driving past a cop that isn't monitoring speed with laser/radar.

so advanced logic for the city?

Correct. Police have a way of beating radar detectors now since so many people use them. Officers when driving/sitting on the side usually keep an eye out and when they see a certain car they pick out from suspicion of moving too fast they quickly turn the radar on.

This is why you arent picking them up. Some leave it on but most dont now.

Any speed you want. If the cop pulls out after you pass by just give your ride a bit of gas so VTEC kicks in. You'll be home free. VTEC > Crown Vic

once the radar is from behind n beeping like crazy, u gas it! before he catches up

:iagree: Just because you have a radar detector, doesn't mean you can speed up more now. Also, you have to understand how radar detector works. Lets say you're driving on highway and a cop is shooting radar. Radar from the cop bounces off the cars in front of you. Your V1 picks up those scattered signal and warns you ahead of time. So, if you're driving in a pack, radar detector works like a charm. If you're the only car on the highway, you are fully exposed to cops.

My radar saved me tons of tickets. Knowing where the cops are, will give you far more advantage and ability to drive much more slowly around cops. This helps you get less tickets. Not too long ago, I was driving in 2nd gear and I had a long stretch of road in front of me. I was going to floor the gas pedal so that I can hear the roaring exhaust. As I'm about to floor it, my radar goes off. I slow down immediately. Without a radar detector, that's a hefty ticket! :tup:

If a cop pulls you over and you have a radar detector, I guarentee he/she gives you a ticket! You are better off without it...
