Default Blind spots

I am a new owner of a 370 z coupe and new to this (or any) forum). Excuse me if this has been asked many times before, but does anyone (many) have a problem with the "blind spots" on both left and right side when trying to see if a car is just behind you in either left/right lane? If so, any suggestions - I've come close to changing lanes into another car. Thanks,

Brad

Brad- yes, a lot of folks question this. The resolve for me was to set the mirror set all the way outward. You won't see the quarter panel anymore but its the way to go on this car.

Or you can get those ugly stick-on mini mirrors...

Wait, people look before crossing into different lanes?

Get the stick on mini mirrors... they are great.

Also, if you don't have a passenger riding with you recline the passenger seat so that you can see out of the passenger side quarter window... really helps!

I've noticed that looking through the hatch I have an ok view of the right rear, the 'rear peepholes' don't give you much visibility at all lol. But for the left side, you're completely blind to anything not even with your door, and unless you wanna lean forward and look like a re-re you have to dare to change lanes. Thats pretty much why anytime I'm on a road with more than 1 lane, I'll always go to the left lane as quickly as possible and just stay there. It's not so bad at night because obviously if someone's close you'll see the light. But during the day it can be tricky, I just tend to accelerate before making my lane shift that in case someone is there, I give them some more room so I'm not cutting them off.

As for those lil stick ons, I've looked at 2 different types, they have one that's completely round, and one that is kind of square with 1 rounded edge. I didn't want to get the circular ones because they would be ugly. The others however might look somewhat ok if the angle is the same as the angle of the mirror. As long as it flows I think the little bit of visibility I gain with them will make up for the eyesore... But thats just IMHO.

Whatever. They are just mirrors, it's not like the ruin the look of the car... or have any impact on the look of the car at all.

They eliminate blind spots completely.

Mini-mirrors make you look like your driving a school bus around.

No, that thing you stick in the back window of a school bus to allow you to see the ground from the rear view mirror makes you look like you're driving a school bus around.

There should never be anyone in your blind spot if you are a good driver. You know your supposed to check your mirrors every couple seconds and be aware of every car around you, cars dont come out of a no where.

it does take some getting use to,in fact i'm not use to them yet.
i think the drivers side is the worst. adjusting the mirrors outward helps
but its not perfect.

does anyone know if you try out those small funky mirrors if you remove do they mess up your stock ones

No. Just use googone to get rid of the adhesive and you're good.

But I promise if you put them on you'll never want to take them off.

Just adjust your mirrors so you can see each lane while still in the driving position. Problem solved
