Cracked...my boo
Dude, just noticed today after a car wash that my windshield has about an 11 inch crack straight down! It was last washed 4 days ago and it wasn't there. I can see the spot at the top where maybe a pebble or rock, whatever, hit the glass... just confused if it'll make more sense just to replace the windshield instead of a repair. Either which way..my heart hurts....I don't like my baby hurtin like this :( What to do...what to do?!!!

Well..it was 84 degrees today when I washed it but I've never noticed a chip or anything til the huge crack today. So I really don't know what exactly happened. Just know that Nissan is gonna charge me an arm and a leg for this thing! Wish I could just trade it in for a different Z haha..but not so easily done |

Could be different in your state or with whatever insurance you have. |

Most insurance plans have 100% glass replacement coverage. Speaking of which, it's time to get mine replaced. I have 2 huge chips in my windshield, plus 46k miles worth of road wear. I think a new window will help me actually see the road. lol

Don't go to Nissan for window glass. Take it to a glass company that is knowledgeable about replacing windows. I doubt that Nissan would even do it themselves. They'd probably send it out and tell you that they did it.
I caught a rock at the bottom of the windshield on my 350 and it cost me about $216. Some of the "major" glass places were asking about twice that much, so look around. |
