Hope this doesn't get taken as an advertisement lol. I just repair chips and small cracks.
Safelite is who fixed mine. In fact, WunDemDer might work at the one where I had mine replaced, since he and I are both from MD. They did a good job.

If it costs, say, $600 for a new one and I get quoted 300+ for a repair..I'll most definitly get a new one.

It sure doesn't beat having to repair a bumper four times at the same spot, replace head liner, replace driver seat, random engine glitches, airbrush repair to the clear coat, burn in pooh stains....goes on and on..... Stupid OB G37...LoL

Windshield is cracked and chipped too.

Check into getting OEM glass for a replacement. The insurance company does this for free or for small deductibles for a reason. There is a difference between OEM Glass and a windscreen that is shaped like the OEM from the manufacturer. It specs for size and shape - but number 1 it won't have that pattern in the glass in the area of the mirror. When you go to the shops for estimates... Make sure you ask if the glass will have that patterned area around the mirror.

Cracked windscreen, simple really. Insurance or get a repair company out to quote you. Is this more polite and non offending?

I'd prefer nissan to do it and have it shipped out or whatever..just seems like for a full replacement that'd be the best option since it IS from Nissan and not a body shop that puts on whatever LOOKS like it fits and has the same shape..I don't know..I'm so confused. I'll figure everything out when I talk to my auto insurance people tomorrow.

Never offended to begin with but I don't do well with sarcasm/ignorance ...luckily I'm on this site and have to be less mouthy or I'll get kicked off But yea..I already know this...but everyone is saying that their insurance covers it in full. I understand this but I have a $500 deductable and have to get quotes to find out what's best. Don't wanna waste $500 bucks for a claim if it's not necessary, ya know?!!

Like he said ,the front glass is actually an integral part of the structural rigidity of cars...it sort of acts as a brace..make sure its done right.

That's why most insurance companys will fix it for free. It ends up saving them money in the end if your in an accident. I know that State Farm has always done that on my cars and I never paid a dime.

Yo sophia just call your ins company n find out if you have glass coverage endorsement..if u do then u would pay a small or no ded to replace the glass..glass repair and glass replacement are two different things..some company's will repair chips for free..if u don't have the glass endorsement then ur comprehenisve coverage will take care of it less ur deductible...u might be able to find replacemnt cheaper than ur ded so at that point ur bettr off just paying out of pocket.
