That hasn't been my experience. It's covered under comprehensive unless you live in a "replacement" state. I know in Kentucky, it is fully covered, but in Indiana, it isn't.

Insurance plans vary from state to state. That's why, in my initial response, I noted that it could be different in SophiaZ's state from my experience in MD. |

I wish I could just trade the car in and just buy a new one But my life doesn't work that way haha...I'm not ready to have a 60k+ loan for a 32k car LOL... I'm not happy about having to get a serious replacement like a windshield cuz I'm now worried about the possibility of a leak

I was just suggesting to her that she call her insurance company to check up on that before contacting glass replacement shops.

Sorry to hear about the Windshield, before you run off to the insurance, call an auto glass replacement shop, they are probably going to be cheaper and they can do the installation, if your deductible is $500 and the replacement is just shy of that no sense of opening up a claim, save it for when you really need it.

^^this sounds about right...also one thing to remember is get the work done by a reputable glass shop..the front glass is actually an integral part of the structural rigidity of cars...it sort of acts as a brace..make sure its done right.

I have the name of a glass shop around here and they come to where the car is and they'll fix it there. Which is awesome since I don't have to drop of the car anywhere. A pretty reputable place from what I'm told..... |

I work for Safelite Autoglass. Call your insurance first then they can transfer you. Takes them about an hour or so for the whole replacement process, plus they can come to your house or work or wherever.
Hope this doesn't get taken as an advertisement lol. I just repair chips and small cracks. |
