eh, you'd still have the middle section connecting the two sides. I believe the risk of that would be minimal.

But, I guess alot of that could depend on who does the body work too. I wonder what the cost would be on a sunroof? |
I'd even take a cutout targa style roof that maintains the lateral beams as structural supports. So you'd have an open top with a beam on each side running over the windows. Cover them in some CF and oh baby.

i would literally trade in my z tomorrow if nissan released a targa top 370z

I have had a sunroof for over a year with virtually no problems. I watched them install it and the part of the roof they removed was all sheet metal with no support beams in it.
Cost $900. |

Damn, I like this idea a lot. Need to find a proper body shop that has considerable experience.

How about cross-examine between a coupe and a roadster to see where the coupe lacks on chassis reinforcement? And then you can tackle the targa top project from there? I'm pretty sure there are some sort of extra reinforcement done for the roadster, and I'm sure it would work for the coupe.... unless they do not share the same chassis which is impossible. lol I bet Nissan didn't develop a separate chassis for the roadster.
