Gas Sloshing Around

I just filled up my tank and then i parked in my drive way, i let the car roll back a bit and then stopped and i could hear the gas sloshing around in the tank from inside the car. I did it a few times just to make sure that was the sound. anyone else ever have that? If so i think it says something for how poorly insulated the cabin is in terms of sound.

It means your exhaust is not loud enough, time for an upgrade. :)

This is not a quiet car, it makes no excuses. The quiet and comfortable version is sold as an Infiniti G37.

hahah. no g37 for me! right now im' staying stock on exhaust but who knows in a few months :) I love the sound of the cold start on this car. i'm coming from a 2.5s altima coupe so even the stock exhaust note is beautiful.

I just thought it was an odd sound to hear. kind of like when you have drank a lot of fluids and then you sit/lay down and you can hear it slosh around in your stomach.

$187 in dynamat will fix that problem.

walgreens has ear plugs for $5 for like 20 pairs. use it for your nose too if your Z has that musty a/c smell.

as for the sound, it's normal. mine does it too....so do my Fit sports i have.

:rofl2: I actually wanted to keep good sounds inside the car and bad sounds out but yah its would be a cheaper fix

Does everyone on this site just drive around with the windows up, HVAC off, sound system off, and with their head cocked slightly to one side listen for the slightest sound which may be then scowled upon and deemed a defect? Just wondering?

Add "pants pulled down" to that list, and you've got me.

jk

I did all my test-driving with no radio or HVAC, though, precisely to hear the engine in the cars I was considering. I love the sound of the Z. For me, road noise is what I want in a sports car.

Aww that's an easy one - give us a harder one next time. Fixing sloppy gas noises in your fuel tank has been around way before the 370Z was ever around. Just add two cups of sugar per fill up and you won't need to worry about sloppy gas anymore!
