Help Identify Mystery Missing Tools
I hope this thread is not redundant as I have looked through the forum, but in the trunk spare tire area there is a styrofoam overlay that has two formed depressions molded into it. Ours were empty, and we are wondering whether others actually have the tools or they were never shipped to the States? Thanks!

One does look awfully close to a screwdriver shape but the other one, I have no clue. Interesting...

I checked the 370Z tech certification booklet and there is no mention.
I have another Master Tech going to training tomorrow (Thursday) and I gave him printouts of the mystery molds to inquire about. I checked the Nissan accessory guides and nothing seems to match. I will post if I find anything out. I'm going to assume that it is along the lines of the eye hook molds in the Altima where there is a place to put one if you decide to buy one for they no longer come from the factory with it. |

Rear License Plate Bracket
Phil,
While you are at it can you please ask why we do not get the nice black license plate holder bracket as shown on the Japanese model? Instead we are given two bolts, and license plate rub rash (Where's the justice?). Also, note parking sensors in bumper (you can see them in both the front and rear bumpers if you go to AK370Z's albums). Yet another photo pilfered from AK370Z's many albums. Even the GTR just has two non stainless clips for the plate on the rear, no plate holder. I take them off my cars and throw them away and replace them with SS same with my plate scres from the factory.
Remember, the is the company that stopped putting the info plates in the engine compartment to save .40 per vehicle. As far as the parking sensors, I'm sure they have to leave something for future models to have... I can send you some body shop clips that you can fire thru your bumper to get the same effect<jk> |

Same deal with my '04 G 35. This is likely the remnant of an old design. Nissan is probably recycling molding tools as they can. They probably found an old tool that would work for the Z, modified it, but didn't maching away that cavity.
But I could be wrong... |
