thanks, modshack.
370zsteve- thanks...yah, i caught the modshack bug. i decided not to paint it thinking the paint might transfer to the dash material...also the EZ felt was a bit too thick to be used as cusion so i sanded down the bracket surface with 2000grit and made it as smooth as possible without making it polished shiny... i had a little gap due to the bracket so made a little gasket on the door side... and the hatch opening side... no gap. very smooth... thanks again modshack! |

btw, i only removed the shift trim and the decorative kick plate thingie in order to hardwire it to the 12v power socket wiring. i made a 1/2" hole in the cubby and snaked the wire through. finished off the hole with a grommet and black EZ felt for a OEM look.
didnt remove the entire cubby out... that would be too much work. |
