Gap or free space under Drivers Seat in NISMO?
 

Hey, I'm about to get a 370z NISMO. My question is pertaining to the amount of free air space between the seat bottom, and carpet? I'm really intested in lowering the drivers seat by as much as possible.
I'm 6'4" tall. I've sat in the car at the dealership, and my head hits the top of the inside headliner. So wearing my helmet would be a challenge.

I will have a metal shop fabricate a lowered seat bracket. I just need a measurement under the seat if at all possible.

Also, has anyone done this before?

There are NO NISMO's at my local dealer. I've tried the powered seats and there is about an inch.

Any help is appreciated.

Let me guess - you have the seat all the way back and you're bumping the headliner near the hatch?

If so, you're doing it wrong. You;ll need to sit closer with your mirrors adjusted all the way out else you will not be able minimize the blindspots.

The seating position for the Z is very "tight-quarters"....

The NISMO seats are identical to the cloth base seats, not counting the stitching.

OK, on moving forward, that's not an issue, but how about the back rest? do you have it more up right? or laid back?

Based on the integrated seat and bracket design, this is gonna be tough if not impossible.
The inner rear bolt down point is almost flat with no lift due to a hump on the floor toward the tunnel on both sides. Face it, the car is tight.

Even using Bride brackets that are about as flat to the floor as they can be and modified for my Sparcos, I lost a little height....Maybe 12 inch.
