planning on becoming a forum vendor?

In for hood struts if you can guarantee no chance of damaging the aluminum hood.

Prosport Gauges 04-29-2010 12:35 PM

Yes we are becoming a vendor. Already talked to AK.

In for more results on this.
Been looking for some solid, do not screw up my hood, hood struts. Talking to a local shop here currently, but not 100% sure they can do it, they do more tuning/wrench tuning.

kenchan 04-29-2010 12:55 PM

quick DIY too please for the hood dampers. :p

hope it's as easy as the ones for the G35C's...i installed a set on mine and it's been very good.

JB-370z 04-29-2010 01:24 PM

Ya a diy would be a forsure, this would help sell more of these little guy's than anything!

uhm...if you use the factory specs on a carbon hood, the weight difference is enough that it'll push the hatch up and create a small gap.

Prosport Gauges 04-29-2010 01:35 PM

hmm... not sure then. right now we are only fitting these to the stock hood.

kenchan 04-29-2010 01:40 PM

phalen, enough already. go change your avatar or something. :D

Prosport Gauges 04-29-2010 02:03 PM

Sorry for the car being so dirty guys. here is the Front :)

one thing we ran into. The rub molding that runs along the side of the fender was cut. Now i imagine some of you fanatics wont want that so cutting a little section out shouldnt be to bad. As others might just toss the rubber. Its up to you ;p

Id say the install would take roughly 15-20 min. always helps to have a buddy hold the hood while installing the dampers.

Dampers are held on with a ball joint, and the secured with a pop pin. I raised and lowered the hood about 2 trillion times to insure quality. We havent had any dampers come back for bad quality.

Ask all the questions you need to, im here!

woot! :D

kenchan 04-29-2010 02:10 PM

hummm... not sure about that cutting out portion. :( isn' that piece there to prevent water entry?

Prosport Gauges 04-29-2010 02:19 PM

actually the dampers go in at an angle. the rubber doesnt need to be cut but you will need to expose the ball joint.

Just a quick question, when you close the hood, can I close it like normal? Meaning I drop it from about 6 inches from close which latches everything or is now I have to lower it then push it close?

kenchan 04-29-2010 02:57 PM

there's no application selection for 370z front hood... (?)

http://prosportgauges.com/carbon-fib...-damper-2.aspx

about 3/4 way down the hood can be droped, but i prefer the push close method.

We will have the website updated very shortly. sorry for the delay.
