it looks like the wind from the drive, made it point up. that's why you couldn't see the car anymore.

yes, I think wind forced one these bend to move. Perhaps it wasn't tightened enough?

BTW, please accept my apology. Youtube has deleted two of my accounts (one with 140 videos and other with 70 ). I'm gonna try to get these videos up soon. Then you can compare how closed vs open etc sounds like. Also, I'm updating the software in about 10 minutes . I can't wait to flip my video (and use 1 touch recording)

yep the wind forced it to move up.

I needed screw driver to tighten it more, that was the max I could do by hands.

Yes, it IS a huge step up from the regular. Video quality is amazing. It's all about HD these days, so why not get it. Also, I think GO PRO HERO is about $180-$190 where this new HD one is about $50 more (from ebay) or $70 more from our forum vendor (Authorized dealer). Get it , it's worth it

I think you can get one for $230-240 easily.

I haven't done much research between normal and HD version, but what I have read is its a massive step up from older version.

Also, why get non-hd these days? it's all about quality now

I have just re uploaded ALL the videos Can I get some rep points? haha J/K . Yes, please read the description of the video first before you click "play". In some videos you will clearly see the difference between "open" and "closed" lid.

Also, please accept my apology on some early videos (video size). I shot with R4 setting (which is not full WIDE screen. It was my 2nd week of playing around with it . I think later videos are 720P full screen WIDE).

Now here's the most exciting part, I will try to update the software today which enables me to flip the video. This opens up a whole new door of possibilities . I actually have two AWESOME inside mount idea in my head that you can use at the track (HPDE, Driving Education etc). Please stay tuned. Also, PLEASE feel free to post your video. Don't forget to give us what setting you used and whether it's open or closed backing.

Thank you

I didn't like the orange color of the original handles so out came the plasti-dip can (not spray). Plasti-dip made a huge difference in how well it grips the crossbar. I'm going to make my own bracket for the end of the clamp that is a little sleeker looking. I'm also looking for a slip knot cord to attach to the clamp in case of a crash. It grips really well but you just never know.

Do you have any video of your driving with that mount? I'd like to see a video

BMWCCA is notorious for not allowing stuff. I'm actually in a process to make my own mount . I'm working on a DIY and will post soon. It'll be either an amazing mount for incar videos or bust! But I'm excited.

Are you referring to my video?

BTW, I have been using Windows live movie maker. It used to put this annoying black strip around my video (as you can see in post 1). I can't believe a 2 second option change will take out that annoying black edge!!

All you have to do,
GO to project and click on 16:9, that's it.

BTW, just bought this new SD card for the Go PRO HD. Anyone uses it? review?

BeachCamera.com - Patriot Memory EP Series 16 GB Class 10 SDHC Card
Class 10 and UHS (Ultra High Speed) compliant .

Also, is the the new update for us older HERO HD user?
http://gopro.com/support/hd-hero-firmware-update
I think my last update was in 2011 when they released the flip upside down feature.

Personally, I would stick with the name brands like Kingston and Kingston and if you realy need to substitute it, then go with Kingston.

AK, i haen't looked at them lately so I forget the shape, but perhaps one can use an adhesive mount in the crossbar. And if you don't want it stuck to the bar permanently perhaps it could be secired with cable ties?

I even tried using a Manfrotto Super Clamp, which is used in photographic gear, but it doesn't open wide enough around that crossbar.

just added the helmet mount style and video. Big thanks to ilive2win for this awesome mount technique for karting. It works perfectly. The sound quality with open backing is awesome! NO wind noise. Take a look

Helmet Mount

Location: Right side of a helmet.
Video setting: 1280x720p
Frames: 60 frames per second.
Backlid: Open
Impression: Beautiful videos EVERY single time. If you're Kart, this is the BEST possible helmet mount in my opinion. The sound is perfect with the open backlid. Thanks to ilive2win for this mount technique

PS: In the first video, I HAD to go off course in turn 1. This kart came up very fast to my right. I did feel bad for hitting the guy . Also, if you look closely, you'll see that alignment on my kart in REALLY off during left turn. Every time I try to make a left turn the whole Kart vibrates like crazy!!! When it starts vibrating, I must hit brake to minimize it .
