Default Gated Shifter

I would love to have a gated shifter, kind of in the R8 style, like this. Is there something out there that fits the 370 already or would it have to be 100% custom fabricated? How much do you think something like that would cost and where would I get something like that done? Any advice is appreciated.. this is kind of what i'm going for

To my knowledge there isn't anything like this on the market currently. I would leave it the way it is though.

from what i heard, even if u have a custom gated shifter, it wont feel the same as those on R8 or ferraris. It is just for looks.

If you are looking for that "Feel" of a gated shifter, what you really need are shifter bushings, not a gated shifter.

It isnt as much the feeling as the aesthetic. I think it would look very very cool to do that whole section including the plastic bit around the emergency button in brushed aluminium or stainless steel, whatever. I think it would change the whole look. I doubt it would be that hard for a custom shop to measure out and replicate something like the picture above for a couple hundred.

next time you are driving around in your car put it in gear and punch it with your hand on the shifter and notice that because it is atached the transmission the whole thing rocks with the torque. That is why gated shifters are used on mid-engined, cable and rod shifted cars, and can be retro fitted into FWD cars like the civic but no one really does it for rear wheel drive as you would bend or brake something if you drove it.

You can feel this just driving on the highway or at regular speeds. if you keep your hand on the shifter when releasing the gas you feel the entire shift knob move a little. I don't know if it goes side to side which might damage a gated shifter but it definitely goes front to back. Would this really be that big of an issue? I've driven a few cars with gated shifters and they really do have a different feel to them but still scrape the edges of the gate during shifts
