Nismo "Aero Components" spoiler vs. sport package
Hey all,
This is my first post, and this forum looks like an awesome resource for the Z. I'm expecting mine to come in later this month and I simply can't wait. I'm looking forward to contributing on here as this whole experience moves forward. Here's a question I can't seem to find an answer on (I even did a quick search on the forum to no avail)... My Z on the way of course has the standard "sport package" spoiler already installed: http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...iler_Stock.jpg I'd very much like to change to the "Nismo Aero Components Rear Decklid Spoiler" pictured here from the Nissan site... http://www.nissanusa.com/img/vehicle...ar_spoiler.jpg ...as well as a shot I snapped at a dealer last year where I first saw it (this thing really makes the car IMO): http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...ISMO_Aero1.jpg The question of course gets raised: does this spoiler use the same holes/bolts as the standard sport package spoiler, or does it require modification? You figure it's available on the site as an accessory (as opposed to some off brand aftermarket piece), but will it mess me up to already have holes for the stock spoiler? Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance! Matt |

Correct. The spoiler your looking at is the Nismo S-tune spoiler and it is a PIA to install. It requires you to drill new holes in the decklid, but more importantly it leave holes from the OEM spoiler exposed so you need to fill and respray the hatch. Stupid.

Ugh don't tell me that -- it wasn't the answer I was looking for.
I guess it would look a little "poser" to put it in a non-Nismo car anyway, but I seriously fell in love with that thing when I saw it. It changes the entire rear dynamic of the car (looks more like a Porsche) without looking overly modified. FTW is right! |

I got my installed like a month ago
550 for the spoiler 350 for laboring for the holes patching, painting the whole rear deck, plus installation. Both cheap but yet expensive. |

...Here's is Simota's deck in preparation for the stock sport spoiler install... YOu can see where you'll have extra holes if you mount the Nismo S-Tune.. |

Don't think they did extra drilling, but yes with whole rear deck repainted.
If you have the sports package holes, you will have three holes that fits, plus the tape it seems fine with me. I've ran about 2k miles on it(mostly free way 80mph), it's still sitting fine. |

I just picked up the NS Seibon spoiler in CF for my RoZy....now I will have to plan on getting the body work and paint done to cover the exposed holes too...

Personally I dont care for the S tune spoiler but I'll defend you by saying that the S-Tune spoiler isnt the Nismo 370z spoiler anyways so it wouldn't be poser.

nope, you end up with the holes from where the sport spoiler wraps around the brake light... like the picture from Simota above...
