It would probably help if you would post a picture of the car you want to see it on and a picture of the hood in a somewhat similar angle....

simota1 04-10-2010 02:33 AM

idk fifaracing has a listing..... it says GTR hood.... and he even said its modeled after the R35 gtr

RCZ 04-10-2010 09:55 AM

Nah....well whats so special about the GT-R's hood? The NACA ducts? You can buy those and do it yourself without having to buy a whole new hood.

Actually, there is a thread somewhere here where someone did just that on their 370Z, and they did an excellent job. Don't ask me where the thread is...it's a forum; posts are characteristically hard to find. ;)

370Zsteve 04-10-2010 10:00 AM

Exactly. And what are the NACA ducts used for in the GT-R anyway? Intercooler feed? Downforce aid?

Dood.... i never thought of that.... holy crap man.... u just gave me an idea... thanks man.... wat does NACA stand for? the only reason why i like the gtr hood is if it rains its the least vented hood so if it rains my motor wont get wet and dirty....

NACA = National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

simota1 04-10-2010 10:10 AM

thanks steve :D

Google it, lots of places sell them. NACA ducts are meant to create airflow with the least possible drag. If you are putting these on your car it would probably be with the goal of getting some flow from the front grill and through the engine bay. You want to put them around the same area where the GT-R has them for them to work correctly...

I am surprised no one hasn't done this yet and that someone hasn't done some fancy TIG welding aluminum work with our hood.

370Z JT 04-10-2010 11:11 AM

Yea I saw a white one with it. It was one of those random photos that changes on top of the site.

i was actually thinking of getting the mines bumper vents.... but man... they look like nostrils.... :shakes head: thanks rcz ill look into it....

rudi 04-10-2010 07:14 PM

I wouldn't do it man. One of the nice things about the Z is the uninterrupted curved lines. If you look there's hardly a strait line on the body. Having these vents on the hood would look out of place and tacky. Just my opinion though.

Zeto 07-05-2010 09:11 AM

Hey guys, I just saw this thread and the link to the DIY is posted on the vented hood thread. Just search vented hood and it'll be the top 5 search results. Hope it helps
