Paint protection (clear bra) on 40th, with lots of pictures
There are quite some threads about people who are interested in paint protections, so I thought it might be useful to see what parts might be at risk and how they look covered in paint protection. So I made pictures for you guys and girls!
Short intro: I had paint protection installed on a lot of parts of my car yesterday at the Tint King (Boston Commercial Window Tint, Residential Home Tinting Service, 3M Window Film) here is MA. These guys are great at what they do and take a lot of pride in their work and that shows. If anyone in MA neighborhood is thinking about doing this they should go to these guys. Although the quality of their work is real good and they don't rush anything, the prices are still good. I also told them about our forum and make sure you mention you're a member, it will make your price even better They also tinted my windows with Huper Optik, I love this stuff and the way it looks, it's definitely worth the extra money over the cheaper stuff, I'll post up some pictures of this later as it changes color just as much as the paint of my car. Anyways enough free advertising for these guys... time for some pictures! I put two versions of the same pictures outlining where the protection ends. I had to walk back to the car a couple of times as I couldn't find the lines on the pictures... I tried real hard to make pictures where you could actually see the lines, but it looks so good, it was very hard to do. Only the last picture actually shows a line, but this was more luck, as when you normally look at it you don't see it at all.

Looks great, man! How much did you pay for the whole package? I only have the front of my car done (front bumper/half hood/front fenders/mirrors) and I already wish I'd gotten the rocker panels done -- they're going to be trashed in no time.

Mine was $500 installed. I got it done at Ziebart which is an aftermarket accessory chain. It's got a lifetime warranty so I can go back to any Ziebart at any time and have it fixed if it peels/fades/gets chipped up/etc.

When you look at prices, outside of the shop, also make sure you check what brand and type material they use, mine was done with the latest version of 3M.

Normally you pay around 600 to 650 for front protection with 3M around here... so 300 bucks extra for the A-pilars, roof, rocker panels, bottom parts of the doors, back side of the fenders and splash guards. Seemed like a good deal to me. If I look at the amount of time that went into it, I would say it would have been about $1200, as it was more then double the work and material then what went into the front. And for just the front, $600 would have been a good price.

That is almost the amount for a front paint job with some money left...
It looks like you almost wrap the whole Z up.

wow, this "Clear Bra" thing is new me but absolutely sounds like something I need to have done on my Z once it comes in (ordered on 01/10/11). Anyone know of a place around central Illinois that does this sort of work?! Thanks!

Not all paint protection is the same though... outside of the installer, what material they use is whether it looks good or like ****
