bug, tar, grease remover?
 

What do you guys use to remove the small black specs on the paint? I'm assuming it's grease. I have been using turtle wax but read it can scratch the paint. I prefer dabbing a little bit of something rather than spraying it on my car. Maybe someone can recommend a wax that doesn't remove oxidation or swirl marks.

Dude! I know exactly what you mean about those spots. That's tiny specks of road tar. It's impossible to take off with a normal wash. You need a claybar, but I have another solution!

I bought some 3M Adhesive Remover in a spray can once at a car show. I have a pearl white Z, so I was going crazy about those spots. Well, I tried the 3M product and couldn't believe my eyes. The stuff is like super liquid claybar! It literally pulls the tar off the paint and you can see it streak down the body.

Have some clean MF towels around. Be sure to wash the car first, dry it well, then use the spray on those offensive spots. Wipe with the MF towel, move on to the next spot. Give it a few seconds to work first.

The only con to this is that you should wax your car after the removal process. Like claybar, the stuff will take off whatever wax you have on the car. It leaves a smooth surface, but I feel like it's too smooth so I always wax the car after.

grease and tar are hard to deal with, but I wouldn't necessarily hit it with "adhesive removal" since those are sorta on the acidic strong side. what I'll do is I'll cut up some all purpose cleaner maybe 1:4 or 1:1 to spray on, let it dwell about a minute and rinse off, if that doesn't take care of it go ahead and buy some tarminator from Stoners and use that. Keep in mind after using the APC (all purpose cleaner) or the tarminator (safe on paint) you'd want to apply a glaze, sealant, or glaze and wax.

Turtle has a bug, tar, grease remover that works really well. Plus it won't strip your wax. I believe it comes in a black bottle.

same here!!! got the same problem, i use a clean microfiber rag and a spray bottle (water only). i spray the spot, let it wet for a few sec and wipe it and its like new.

i use RC car motor spray (or nitro cleaner) on a rag. works great.

then wax afterwards. if it's real stubbon i use clay.

for bugs i use Wizard's BugRelease.

Turtle Wax Bug n Tar remover, spray it on and wash it off after a minute or two. If that does not get it off then a clay bar with Meguiar's Quick Detailer.
