These are stickied at the top...Both are great threads. Zaino seems to work quite well and the guide is very well done. But both discuss what others use to wax, polish, etc.

Zainos great. There is only 1 problem with Zaino. Zainos Z2 can be hard to use, but if you can master it, there is probably no reward better.

They say "thin is better" becuase less you apply the easier it is to remove but still the results are kind of amazing some times.

srry for the wrong section post. i tried looking for stickies and such and just couldnt find them. this site is kinda large and overwhelming with all the diff section right on the main page.

yea from what ive seen nothing comes close to Zaino. just forking out 80-110 bucks for that stuff it rough :P but for what it does it seems worth it

^Meguiar's, it's affordable, it's good wax!

I'm a huge fan of their products. Been using it for years. I especially like NXT since it's so easy to use and smells good, too.

zaino's okay but too many numbers in their system..and you end up with plasticy surface shiny artificial finish. if polymer i recommend Prima Epic. easier to use and has a more natural carnauba like deep finish.

oh yah, if you want a super shiny finish try Griot's PaintSealant. very easy to use and it's comparable to zaino....and a lot cheaper and lasts probably longer than zaino on the car. just get their smallest bottle...

NXT is great, and lasts a long time. In bewteen waxes with it, I hit the car with Meguires quick detailer, and the shine seems to last a long time. One thing I am going to try next time I clay bar and NXT, is to top the NXT off with a coat of pure carnuba to deepen the shine. That two step approach, a synthetic protector wax topped with a good carnuba seems to be very popular on a lot of the detailing forums.

There was a test performed probably last year or two against various waxes ranging from sub $10.00 to whatever. They showed that the one of the cheapest waxes is the straight winner.

Sorry. I don't have the article anymore.

BTW, I have Zaino, Zymol, NXT, etc. (I probably would not buy Zaino anymore as I could not justify the extra cost relative to the shine it gives over the others.)

Interesting... I'll have to try that 2 stage approach next time I detail her (which will be soon).

I have to get some new claybars, though. Ran out last summer. She needs a good rub.

Meguires does recommend that you allow the NXT to go 12 hours though, prior to layering anything else on top

Appreciate that advice. Did not know that. I wash the Z, then apply NXT and let her sit. Gonna have to reserve a weekend for this new routine. The wife's not going to be happy.

I'm thinking wash, clay bar and NXT Saturday, come back Sunday morning and apply the carnuba, that part should be fairly quick

Have you tried Zaino? I don't agree with your observation. It's not rocket science to pour out one ounce of polish, add five drops and then shake for 30 seconds.
