Project: Nismo
So I purchased my Z before the nismo came out. I love my car, but immediately fell in love with the nismo body, so i decided to do the conversion and post the results. I didn't post this in the nismo parts thread simply because it got so long that finding useful info in it was becoming difficult.
WANTED: If anyone with a Nismo plans to get a aftermarket spoiler and would be at all interested in selling their stock Nismo spoiler, I am VERY interested. I know this is a longshot but send me a PM if you are!! This is the front bumper. All of the pieces came on different days. Pulled the stock front off to do a test fitment. Rear bumper cover Test fitting rear. First page of list for ordered parts... Second page of parts... Third page. You'll notice 2 parts returned...this was support bars for the front and rear which the dealership insisted that I needed (which I knew i did not) but decided better safe than sorry. Sure enough, they turned out to be EXACTLY the same Also, the under engine cover that connects to the front bumper is RIDICULOUSLY expensive. It retails for $1168.88 which i payed net cost at $935.10. It was the single most expensive piece. More than both bumpers combined. I'm still waiting for it to come in. When it does I will post pics of it and if anyone on here can fabricate one, let me know. I wouldn't mind making duplicates of it for other people looking to do the conversion on the forums here. Also you'll notice that I haven't ordered the Nismo Spoiler. This is because it is over $2000 which, after purchasing the under engine cover, I was not quite willing to do....yet. When I do finally do it, I will post pics. I Will keep posting pics as more gets done. Just painted the bumpers and side skirts and will post pics of them on Sunday when I get back in town. Let me know if you have ANY questions. Part Numbers: FBM23-1A47H (Front Bumper) HEM23-1A47H (Rear Bumper) G6853-1A31H (Side skirt) G6852-1A31H (other Side Skirt) H5249-1A30A (Bracket - this is used in the middle of the rear bumper. It is different than the stock bracket) G5892-1A30A (Under Engine Cover) F3845-1A30A (Front inner wheel well liner for one side) F3844-1A30A (Other side - Without these there is a gap between the sides of the fron bumper and the inner liner of the wheel wells) 76882-EG01A (Replacement clips for the side skirt - from experience on other vehicles, these break. I got these for backup :P ) F2026-1A47A (Lip for under the front bumper) :UPDATE: New Pics! Got the front bumpers on for a good test fitment with the new wheel well liners for the front and found more parts were needed. You can see the gap between the front and rear bumpers and the wheel wells. This is where the protectors need to go which I just got ordered this morning. Why Nissan didnt just make them as part of the bumper covers is beyond me... these are the 2 brackets for the rear bumper. I've had a lot of inquiries about this part. You'll notice that the nismo one is shorter than the stock one. This part hold the bumper and is located in the middle of the back bumper. Here are the two bumpers painted. The side skirts didn't turn out as well as I wanted so I sanded them down and am repainting them today. Also, I need ideas for how I should badge it! Stay tuned for more pics! :UPDATE: Got pics of the side skirts! Project is getting close to completion! Last edited by Thano; 03-28-2010 at 08:28 PM. |

Easier? Yes. Cheaper? Debatable... If I can fabricate the under engine cover and send it back, then i'll come out a lot cheaper. Plus, I can do all the body work/painting

I'm doing this same thing. Would you be able to write out in a post what each part is, the picture cuts off what exactly it is.
Edit: By the way, not sure if its legit, but they have the engine under cover for $450 on ebay.

I have the rear Nismo fascia on order from Z1. What is that rear bracket that you say is in the middle of bumper? First I've heard of that. The other guy that installed this bumper made no mention of it. Also, you are going to need the "protectors" as Nissan calls them for the rear fender liners otherwise you will have a gap back there too.

The front diffuser or chin is what I commonly see the lip being called. Basically goes under the front bumper.
The bracket for the rear is basically a support piece. Ill post pics of the regular bracket and the nismo piece side by side when I'm back in town Sunday night. It's probably not a REQIRED part but I'd rather have ikt than not |

Well if it isnt to expensive ill get it, but paying $1000 for a under cover...screw that, all it does is keeps the bottom side of the engine clean. I would rather get under my car every week and clean the engine then pay that much for a piece of plastic.
