If you live in an apartment without a garage your car is exposed.
I've got covered parking, but when it hails at an angle or bounces you
get damage (this happened to people in Austin from last year's two
huge hail storms)

3) All that water, mentioned in #2, will get all over you, and your car, since most people won't carry their hail blankets with them
4) I'm sure the hail blanket will scratch...
5) I'm sure the hail blanket, once soaked, will weigh a LOT, which means you won't be able to remove it, without scratching and getting it dirty and other crap in it.
6) While it's soaked, you won't want to put it in your Z, else it will in turn get soaked on the inside, moreso than even when you opened the rear hatch to pull out said blanket
Currently I have an old comforter and some blankets I put on the car at
the first sign of hail. I haven't had any damage with that approach, but
your left with soaked blankets. I just put them in the washing machine
and dryer. It would be cool to get one of these hail blankets because
they custom fit your car (only one blanket needed) and are designed to
minimize hail damage. But, there is no word from the company or
anybody that owns one on their washing care. If you had to dry clean
the thing it would be a pain in the butt and defeat the purpose

Anybody know about hailblankets.com? Used them? Spring=hail, would
be good to know if this is a good way to protect our cars

My question below about washing and cleaning hail blankets still has no
answer from the company, would be cool if someone here who's used
HailBlankets could let us know

"Hi,

After using the blanket, the blanket will be soaked and
will need to be washed and dried. What are the washing
and drying requirements for the hail blankets? Will I be
able to meet these requirements by using my home washer
and dryer?

Thanks in advance for your prompt reply,"

Got a call yesterday that it was hailing. Rushed to my car and put all the blankets in my house, while getting shot by hails. We had some really big grape size hail in Carrollton.

Woke up this morning and I had some hail damage in the roof and some major dents on trunk.

$275 is a small price to pay if those blankets actually work. That's cheaper than most quality car covers.

I am pretty sure that if you just have a decent car cover over while theres a hail storm, that should more than efficient to protect your car. Unless you get hella unlucky and have fist size hails raining at you. Just store your car in a garage...

The question is about re-usability of the hailcover (do you have to dry clean it or
can you just throw it in the washer, it will get used more than once and
will be a soaking mess after a storm)
