Custom Headlights from MR Works

1 Attachment(s)
Just wanted to give some feedback about my experiences with Marco and Ryan
@ MR Works. This job was a little more complicated than dropping by their shop and a quick turn-around.
Pulling my lights out and shipping them 2,000 miles from Canada to a couple of guys I've never met, was, to say the least, a little unnerving.
I do most things by gut instincts. I could really sense their passion for the work, and they didn't let me down.

There's been some talk about warranties and LED longevity. My take on it is... warranties are like promises... they're only as good as the guys who give 'em. I've no doubts they'll look after me down the road if needed.

There were a few hiccups along the way, but they were on top of the whole process. Can't put a price on integrity. Kudos to you both!

I was waiting for a pro shoot that keeps being delayed, and didn't want to put it off any longer, so these pics'll have to do for now.
I went with satin black housing and color matched shrouds in carbon silver. The LED's are white.
Of all the mods I've done so far, these headlights are still the biggest head turner and get the most favorable comments.

Thanks guys,
Mike

+1 on the Park light. Very easy mod. Takes less than 5 mins for both sides. Also.. If you got those Landing strip at 6k intensity.. You might want to consider upping the intensity of the HIDs (main light) since they are only at 4.3k. If you pay attention closely.. you'll be able to see that the HIDs will look like crap with the 6k landing strip. My 2 cents.

I'd also like to paint the cornering light housing background black. A little after the fact now, however.
I didn't realize how much it would stand out until after the conversion was done. Good idea changing to an LED. I'll give it a shot.

Looks great Michael!! We definitely will take care of you if anything happens. Who knows, maybe in the future you will want to go with the new designs we have in mind;)

This thread only furthers my interest in getting my lights modded. Can't wait!

Yea, I got a switch under my steering wheel for my leds. Cost $98, but I don't know where it came from; my mechanic got it for me

Yes we offer a complete installation kit that includes
-all wires necessary to run them to your center console
-Up to 3 switches OEM style, that sit in between the seats near the arm rest (where the heated seat switches are, base model has one blank switch, touring has 3)
-A detailed picture and description installation catalog (shows you the simplest yet most effective way run the wires through your car)
-if needed, a fuse and water tight holder

Is it possible to have one positive wire from each LED and one common ground wire(10 wires from each light) exit the light housing? I would like to interface them with a PIC micro controller to have the LED's do custom things with the blinkers and auto adjust brightness during current outside light intensity.

I've emailed two other vendors that do this mod the same questions and none have responded. I'm guessing that means its either not possible or they they think I'm high--I promise I'm not high...

kdoske 03-12-2010 10:35 PM

lol, guess not

Slynky 03-12-2010 10:46 PM

Let me step in and prove my ability to design rice...

Talking about making the LEDs "do special things", how about having the landing strip come on when the lights come on AND blink in concert with the turn signals as well?

Marco_xyz 03-12-2010 11:08 PM

kdoske I will bring up that idea with Ryan, he knows a lot more about the led and electrical stuff then I do. Unfortunately he barely has time to even sign on to this forum, so I will forward the message!

XwChriswX 03-13-2010 12:08 AM

Next thing you know people will get them modded so they blink just like the lights on KITT... :ugh2:
