Question about the pinch welds and adapters: So are slots in the adapters (or hockey pucks) deep enough so that the area SURROUNDING the pinch weld is being supported and the slow just keeps the pad in place. Or are the slots just deep enough that the weight of the vehicle is actually being supported by the pinch weld itself?
I ask this because it seems like the slots in most jack pad (pinch weld) adapters aren't deep enough to to reach the surrounding areas (ie, the weight of the car is on the pinch weld) however, I am seeing pictures of jack stands being placed BEHIND (well, to the inside) the pinch weld which I am sure the whole area is reinforced. |
