Default 370z Hatch Struts!

For current 370z owners is your trunk hatch easy to open and does it stay in place? This is a big gripe with my 350z as the hatch slowly creeps down, not all the way just a tad but its enough to hit my head on. The dealership has replace the hatch struts twice and still the same so I've learned to deal with it. I'm wondering if the 370z is using the same type of strut cuz I haven't been the only one experiencing this. Also does the 370z have a hatch button inside the cabin somewhere cuz on the 350 you gotta have the remote or that rubber thingy hidden above the license plate area, its nice to pop the hatch from inside sometimes? Thanks guys.

Even if the struts are the same, the hatch on the 370z is lighter than the 350z's. It's made out of light-weight aluminum now. This shouldn't be a problem anymore.

It opens just as easy if not easier then the 350.
That hatch feels much sturdier and stable on the 370, felt like it holds in place pretty well.
I believe there is a release for the hatch in the truck compartment but no release button in the dash area.
There's not even a truck release button on the key fob anymore..

Yeah, the only way to release it is from the button under the trunk. The hatch struts are very strong, at least on mine, and easily open it with confidence.

The hatch on the 370 opens much better and sturdier than it ever did on my 350. Esp. in freezing temps, the 350 was really bad, but the 370 struts aren't phased one bit. And yes, there's only one button available to open the hatch now - right above the license plate. Why they took away the button on the key fob I do not know.

^^^ Personally, I like not having more fob buttons. I NEVER use the trunk release on the M35's fob. I just hit that button by the license plate.

Well at least you have the option. I'd be okay with not having the fob button if they put a release button in the dash. But only having one way to pop it open is just a little annoying. To me, at least.

Hrmmm... That sucks. Wonder why they did that. On my M, it's also on the left of the steering column. That just doesn't make any sense.

On my IS350, I only use the button located on the trunk to open it, but I see where people are coming from where it might be handy someday to have other options to open the trunk. Regarding the trunk hatch, from my several test drives and 370z experiences in general, the hatch seems very sturdy and definitely holds its own weight very well.

Yep, like if I'm dropping off my wife and she needs to grab something out of the back. What's wrong with her just using the trunk button? In theory, nothing, except she always has trouble finding it for some reason and fumbles around all over the place. And the problem with that? She has a tendency to knick the paint with her diamond ring!

Hahah ohh trunk releases. My buddy has a 350 and was convinced the release was only on the fob. one day he was all "Check This Out!"

Solution: Put the car in neutral (or park for those auto users just kidding. ), pull up the e-brake, get out, open the trunk for her.
