Blindspot Mirror(s) for Z

In anticipation of the spring that seems like it will never arrive, I want to order 1 or 2 blind spot mirrors to attach to a corner of each of my Z side mirrors. Does anyone know of a model made to fit (or that will fit) our mirrors? I can't find anything on-line that will just sort of blend in and not detract from the beauty of my Z.

I just hope you're not going to get one of those round glue-on plastic things from the "dollar store"...

J/K - Know you won't but, GAWD, aren't those things tacky !?

I dont find ithard at all with the Z blind spots, I just turn my head and look before I jump.

The blind spots were the #1 worry when I got the car, but now I don't even think about them at all.

Mirrors all the way out until click and lots of over the shoulder looking. If there is no passenger, I move the passenger seat forward so I can see out the little toy window.

If there is a passenger, I ask them to take a look for me if I'm not 110% sure there is nobody hiding in a tiny clown car at the side of me.

In my RSX, I kept the left mirror trained so that I could see a tiny bit of the body of the car. BUT, because there's this wide portion of the rear window in the Z that tends to block my side head check (remembering my old drivers ed classes), I have moved the left mirror to show, ummmm, OUT more than I usually do. I no longer see the side of the body now. If I want to do a good headcheck now, I actually have to lean forward a bit and look backwards more (because of the wide "bar" on the rear window).

If they made a piece of mirror that, say, fit the outside curve (one third of the mirror), that might be a decent consideration.

There was a post on this several months back. Try a search.

I have my mirrors setup so that I can see everything except for smart cars...lol.

But if they are smart enough they will avoid you.

Yeah, 'cause if you hit one, it would be like running over a large beercan...like...

"Mildred, did you feel something back there in the turn...?"

Xan Logic: "If you just make sure you go faster then everybody else, you always know what's behind you, as it was just in front of you, before you passed it.... So mirrors are useless unless you are driving backwards..."

Or it could be your quarter panel being ripped off....

I'd like to know, too. I end up taking my eyes off the action ahead of me when I'm trying to merge into the right lane, and I'm afraid one of these days I'm going to rear-end someone.

That logic falls apart when someone is faster than you, whether you want them to be or not! ;)

Solution to that aren't mirrors, but a faster car...

True solutions fix the problem at the core and don't put bandages on the problem (like mirrors)

Your logic is flawless. Haha.

i dont think you'd need those dome mirror things...just set it outward past the view of your rear quarter.

And get used to the car. At first I was driving like an old lady but I'm starting to feel more comfortable now.

why not? that's precisely what i did. they may not look too pretty but they are very effective at getting the job done. better stick on a cheap glued mirror than sideswipe someone in a lane change and damage or even total the car

NXTAZEE 02-27-2010 11:23 AM

I thought this was going to be an issue as well before I got my Z, but it's not. Set your side view mirrors so that when a passing vehicle begins to disappear in your rear view mirror, the are beginning to appear in your side view mirror. You should be able to see the front of the passing vehicle in your side view mirror and the rear of it in your rear view mirror. No more blind spot. Make sure you have your side view mirrors tilted up high enough so they can be adjusted out all the way, other wise you won't be able to fully adjust them.
