no offence i dont want to be like a honda owner and have fake CF or paint it black. i have to do the Z right

I would go back with a 1.5k - 2.5k offer. It is better to aim for a lower number and negotiate up from there. it is almost impossible to negotiate down.

Paint is fine, carbon fiber overlay is not.
Doing a solid paint job will look fantastic with other carbon fiber parts, what color is your Z?

FuszNissan 02-22-2010 01:21 PM

I am not saying a cf paint. Just a matte black or gloss black paint job.

im in the united states air force and am stuck in england where they dont sell nismo and if they did it would be RHD. i will be coming back to the states with 30k. 16k-20K cash for down payment. i am just doing all the necessary research now. and the only color i will settle with is PW. i already found a company to powder coat the rims. along with the viper system.

...okay...just from first glance, why are you purchasing HFCs AND RTPs? you are aware that only one of those goes on the car...right?

in fact...where are you getting these prices? 9k for a TT is pretty low (except the 7k dvd TT kit, which is one in a million chance)

CF roof for $650 better be for an overlay, you will not get a direct replacement for that money. you'll spend more cutting the poor Z apart than that. also A-Pillars, where you getting those?

not trying to bust a bubble, i'm just curious. some of those numbers, i'm pretty sure, will be much higher than you are calculating.

Where's the labor cost? Don't forget labor....unless you're doing all this yourself...which would be amazing!

USAF-Z 02-22-2010 01:38 PM

and your right it is an overlay. i know you all might think it is stupid and a waist of money but i cant have a flow of carbon from hood to trunk with a gap on the roof just painted black. i would rather just have an over lay :shakes head:. that is why im trying to get the real thing instead of an overlay

most of it i can do my self. the USAF has auto hobby shops where i can pay to use a car lift and all their tools for under 50$

Wow...cool deal!

theDreamer 02-22-2010 01:40 PM

The issue you will run into is a carbon fiber roof is a lot of R&D, and no company has wanted to jump into other than just a wrap style overlay setup. So it is real carbon fiber but it just sits on top of the stock roof.
