3m Ni Doc carbon fiber vinyl

I'm pretty happy with just wrapping the fangs, b pillars, rear valence. I'm thinking about wrapping the colored part of my side mirrors.

Well, I might try and see if it still fits - but it was just for practice.

I wouldn't want to do the sides as one piece as it would be hard to change the battery!

here is supposedly a really good carbon fiber vinyl for a quarter of the price. I think it looks clean:

wilson- becareful cause these fobs are known to get stuck at times...

but the battery will last you a good 3-4yrs... by that time you'll probably be re-doing the DiNoc?

so i re-did the passenger door handle switch to day so here's a quick DIY:

this is the finished product:

Tools: (emboss heatgun on the left)

First begin by removing the switch box from the car. Use a interior tool and pull up.
There's just tabs, no screws. Then use a small flat screw driver and push into the
clip to undo the harness lock.

1. General shape + getting the switch control holes. i used one of my earlier templates to
get the switch control holes. the outer lines are just for general shape.

2. Cut out the switch control holes...give the corners some radius.

3. Position the DiNoc, press down.

4. Give it some heat with the emboss heatgun (it's low heat and unlike a hair drier
it doesnt blow air that much so easier to use).

5. Give it more heat and wrap-over to the back side a section at a time.
The emboss heatgun stands up on its own so use both hands to work
on the wrap.

(backside)

Trim off the excess, apply heat and press onto the switch trim.

6. Done...

Now to go your car, connect the harness, place switch control trim into the door.

<Important>
Turn your car on and do a window reset by pressing down to open the window,
hold for 5-10 sec, then roll up window all the way, count 5-10 sec and DONE.

Bringing back from the dead. Looking on eBay and they have "dry" and "glossy" di noc black cf. You all have used gloss I'm assuming? But the pics don't look all that glossy.

Lmk. Thanks! I'm going to tackle some parts after I future out what to order. I may go with the "dry" one.

Chuck I'm using matte (dry)

Tungman- pull up the rear flat portion of the sw box up and it should just pull up. Then slightly pull towards the back of the car. Use a hard squeegee or interior tool.

Btw, after you install the wrapped bit onto the car give it a good shot of heat so that the DiNoc settles in its final position.

I don't know what kind Autozone sells but you can buy different sizes of the actual 3M Di Noc material from the website below. The prices are reasonable.

I would def go with the 3m DiNoc , i got some on eBay for real cheap and I can't see knock
Offs molding as well as the real thing. Hit it with heat and it gets super flexible and molds and forms to stuff great.

Anyone put the on the hood of their car? Wont the engine heat, heat up the vinyl? And i was on a site that said this is basically a permanent application.
