Looks good. FWIW I ordered a leather and a suede sample of the di-noc. Not for the car but for some things around the house that I have in mind...

There are DIY real carbon kits out there that come out really well.

Ya like that carbon-mod kit, I might check that out. If the area around the circles was flat, there would be no problem. But of course Nissan has to add alil quark to every part on the car.

They wanted 400 for the wood trim on an IS with a core exchange. There are not that many pieces or as large on a Z so I cant see it being that much. If any members here would like prices I can talk to them about it tomorrow. |

here's the roof wrap i did a few days ago (but ended up removing per earlier post, didn't like the faux roadster canvas look):
after removing it, here's where it ended up... the wrap was too small so only did this as practice. pretty impressive how forgiving this stuff is, huh? Last edited by kenchan; 07-14-2010 at 09:52 AM. |

although it doesn't bother me if the perpendicular part is not fully wrapped it still looks pretty good as long as the base of the perpendicular area is wrapped cleanly. |

So I just got my samples today. I got a sheet of "leather," a sheet of silver CF, and a sheet of "suede." The Suede is nothing to write home about... I guess from far away it could look like suede but it's not impressive.
The leather is actually really nice. The pattern and the color is very believable. I think I might order a larger sheet to wrap the top of an old desk with it. The Silver CF is actually pretty interesting. It's got some metallic flake to it so it's pretty cool. Obviously it doesn't look very much like real CF but I really dig the look. Very cool. I might wrap an HD enclosure with it and I'll get a couple pics.

^^ keep us posted on your project. leather trim sounds good, i might be interested in wrapping some of my G's bits with that.
i too was thinking about how my roof couldve looked with the silver CF... not going to try anymore though. ive already flushed a few hundred on CF sheets that i tried and did not work out (trash) so far in the last 3wks. hahaha. im expecting my new smaller roll to arrive late afternoon. |

Also, I don't think the silver would look good on the roof. It would probably look neat as an interior application though. But not on the Z... on a different car.
