Carbon hood with vents

Does anyone know if Vents in the hood are bad for the engine? For example, the vents let in Ice, snow, and rain. Could it potentially result in engine damage? Thoughts....

^---- That. Besides the fact that water would be getting under the hood all the time, it'd just make things a nightmare to clean if you're obsessive about that...
