Rust spot - paint warranty?
 

My car is a 2019. I noticed that on one of the welds under the rear hatch, there is a tiny spot of rust. I an talking like 0.5mm but it is rust and will continue to grow over time. The paint warranty covers rust right? How would they handle something like this? I'd be fine with sanding and painting, I just don't want it to spread. I could ask a shop or do it myself but if it is under warranty why not let them do it?

Is it under the weather stripping? Found a spec myself, I just put a blob of grease on it and put the stripping back over.

0.5mm is rather small, but I'd mention it to the service advisor next time you take it in.

They'll probably just buff/light sand it off and touch it up.

I just checked it again, it's actually almost 1cm now. It's growing fast! A few months ago it was a tiny spot. Here is a picture. It is near the roof under the hatch, between the weather stripping and the roof of the car.
