Door Outside Molding Removal
I'm in the process of cleaning up a slightly neglected '09 370Z coupe I picked up earlier this year. Both Door Outside Moldings (#1 in the diagram) need to be replaced.
https://i.imgur.com/HQAaSaM.jpg The removal instructions from the service manual state: 1- Fully open door window. 2- Remove door outside molding fixing screw (A). 3- Pull up door outside molding, and then slide door outside molding toward door rear side as shown by the arrow in the figure. https://i.imgur.com/m93ZckQ.jpg After removing the fixing screws, neither molding seems like they want to budge when I try to pull up on or slide the molding off of the door. For those who have replaced one of these moldings before, can you offer any tips or techniques to remove the molding without damaging the door? Thanks in advance. |
After removing the screw, mine just lifted right off just like in the diagram. Lift from the screw end. Maybe your's just has some corrosion on it which is making it stick

Thanks for the reply. I’ll give the moldings another try.

I gave each molding a bit stronger of a tug, and they both popped off. There was a fair amount of dirt and crud under the molding. Thanks again for the reply.
