LASFIT Conversion Kit (HID to LED)

Hey Z family, Hope you all are doing amazing. Wanted to share my experience for those looking to upgrade your headlight bulbs to something other than HID's. Mine were really bad at night and could barely see 25-30 feet in front of me, NO JOKE.

I recently purchased the LASFIT Pro Series D2S D2R for Nissan Infiniti HID to LED Bulb Conversion Kit. And I am BLOWN away!

I am absolutely thrilled with my purchase, The output on these lights are literally night and day difference from my old bulbs. I originally had 10000k HID bulbs (blue color) bought those on this forum from a vendor back in like 2012 or something and they were okay for the time being... Then I bought Morimoto 6000k bulbs last year (white - higher light output) but was severely unimpressed, I preferred my blue bulbs better to the Morimoto bulbs output. I was going to buy the new Morimoto XB LED headlights but at $1400+ I didn't wanna spend that much, I came across this conversion kit for MUCH LESS... and I can not be any happier, the high beams can literally blast 75-100 yards, low beams are bright and wide... TRULY one of the best purchases for my Z since I have owned it. Thank you so much LAS-FIT.... Driving at night feels so much safer now.

Hope this helps someone in the future if they decide to go this route.

I think original HID bulbs are 6000K or even less. No matter how dark it is, I can see very well with them, so I'm not sure why you were that dissatisfied with them. If you could see only a few feet ahead, I'm guessing you lowered your car and didn't adjust your headlights?

OEMs are most likely in the 4300-5000K range. Above 6000K is where you get into the realm of extremely diminishing returns with light output not performing at the level that an HID bulb normally would had it been in a usable light spectrum (i.e. he couldn't see anything past 30ft with a 10,000K bulb).

Not lowered and never had to adjust the bulbs, Not sure If I got a dud pair or my ballasts were going bad... But my 10k bulbs were brighter than these morimoto 6k ones.

No... My 10k bulbs were actually brighter than the morimoto ones. Thats why I was so confused. I knew a higher temp meant less visibility, but this wasn't the case.

I'll give my input as soon as I get it out at night.

For reference I went from 3200lm Osrams, with STi projector lenses to the 5500lm LED Lasfits.

Instead of removing the bumper cover to swap the HID driver out for LED driver; I simply pulled the splash guards unplugged the harness from the HID driver, plugged it into the LED driver and plugged the LED driver into the LED bulb through a waterproofed hole I drilled in the headlight bulb cover.

This provided for a faster install. Additionally, instead of removing the HID driver and wiring (to the HID bulb) it's all still in place if/when the LED's fail and the HID spare bulbs need to be quickly swapped back in.

*UPDATE*

Finally drove at night with the LED's. They are brighter then my previous setup in post #10 by roughly 20% via visual observation. The "print" on the road is also much wider and the streaks I had in the print are gone, so call it "fuller". I do notice more light pooling on the road about 3' off the bumper so I probably have some upward adjustment to do.

A great feature of the LED's is that they instant on so the OE flash feature actually works instead of having to wait for HID's to fire up. I gave up on the slow reaction of the HID's during the flash feature and was using my LED fog lights to flash instead.

Also, in regard to my frakenstein install in post #10 above, I've driven and parked in the rain and noticing zero condensation inside of the headlight housings.

I'm going for a real/actual change of the root cause of the problem: the stock projector.

Amplification of the stock projector may seem like cheap easy idea- but - it simply does not fix the Fresnel style lens - that lens - bleeds light vertically = glare into oncoming drivers.

The cheap/best alternative is to remove the glass and replace with the STi-R glass - $60

If anyone has experience of fitting these I'd appreciate any advice.

My experience on Mori. products comes from reading others heartache, it's junk so I don't use any of it.

Morimoto doesn't make all (any?) of its products in house.

Their Z34 headlights/taillights are rebranded products from . . . elsewhere.

78Works in Japan is another label that slaps its logo on the exact same lights (with an additional color option for the tails!)

Or you can go to Coplus Taiwan and just buy it from the maker

They will respond (slowly) in English too, I was trying to get replacement parts directly from them, but they couldn't get me just the red tinted cover like I wanted.
