Default Key Fob question

Hi, I received a 4 button fob with the car and it does start the car. I bought an oem fob online and went to Nissan to have it programmed. They said the procedure was to deactivate the working key and then they could reprogram both. Well, now they can't get either key to program so my car is dead in the water at the dealership. They are ordering me a new fob for $200+. Has anybody experienced similar or have a clue what could have gone wrong? Thanks

The OEM Z key fobs should be 3-button. I'm thinking the 4-button fob you received isn't OEM, and when Nissan tried to program OEM, it cleared everything out. Could be a security feature for the non-OEM fob.

I don't think ordering another OEM fob will do anything.

Appreciate any update if the new fob work. My friend is looking at this 370Z and its 4-bottom fob isn't working. It also got a minor coolant leak but looks good overall. We'll take a closer look at it this week after we installed the bed cover and headache racks on the truck.
