Rear Fog Light Custom Install
A few teaser shots. My light is just a little different in how it operates. As soon as the last switch shows up I'll update.

Will it be like an F1 Car Blinking all the way?? If So I want one of Those!!!
|
I'm using a standard flasher right now so the speed is like a standard blinker. I'll be upgrading to a faster flasher soon.
It is set up with a center off switch utilizing two on positions. One on position is full override to cut the light on solid. The other on position activates my module. When that is activated the brake gives me a solid light. Reverse gives me a blinking light. If I am in reverse with the brake on it also blinks. It would be very easy to cause the override to go through the flasher if that's what you wanted. |
So I am very much not electrical savy :( Is there anyway you or anyone else can make a set up like this that Id pay you for, ship it to me, so that all I would have to do is perform a simple install and tap into the wires?

Do you want to post a wiring diagram for those of us that can follow the pictures?
|
Definitely. I was at work but I'll go ahead and post one up now that I'm home. So I tap the 12V from the center console cigarette lighter plug. That power is run to the first relay. If reverse is active that relay sends power to the flasher and then to the fog light making it blink. If reverse is not active the relay sends power to relay 2. If brake is active relay 2 sends power to the fog light for solid illumination. If brake is not active then the power stops there. No lighting at all. Note there is also a second 12V from the switch that goes directly to the fog light. That is the second on position which overrides all controls and completely turns on the fog light. The ground for the fog light is simply run to the box so that all grounds are combined and run to a single location in the car. In this case the little bolt with all the grounds in it that you see in the photo above.
http://www.the370z.com/members/cbric...nal-wiring.jpg For those wanting to do this on their own I'll be making another diagram with some pictures of real parts that should make it easy. Also if you remove the driver's tail light and pull the plug through the grommet you will want to tap ORANGE for REVERSE and GREEN for BRAKE. In the center console there is a YELLOW wire which is 12V ACC. |

CB - Thanks.
The picture along with a parts list and maybe even I can do it. |
I'll be out for the evening but when I get back tonight I'll make a little wiring key and show some actual products.

DIY posted. I will update this thread and maybe that one too with videos of operation when my rocker switch finally gets here.
