What's the function of what seems to be a square clear sensor on the drivers side front and facing forward? Neither the Owners Manual nor FSM state's its purpose but

Neither the Owners Manual nor FSM state's its purpose but I know and it's not for the glass dimming feature via flashlight testing. On a side note, it's cute the FSM calls out "Anti Dazzling" mirror, direct Japanese translation I guess. Owners Manual states "Anti Glare". __________________ Toys Not Tots
