Rear License Plate Frame or Bumpers?
What do you use to bumper the rear license plate from the paint on the vehicle? I have been thinking of going to Home Depot and getting some clear plastic bumper so that it is not hitting the paint.
Any other ideas? |
Bumpers...frames still tend to leave lines and sometimes chip and dig into paint when the car hits bumps and potholes.

So where can you purchase a set of bumpers from .. or do you just fab some yourself from rubber washers?

Tip for putting them on a plate or a bumper that will reinforce their sticking adhesive even to stick in bitterly cold weather climates....If you are going to put the rubber tabs onto the metal plate, wipe the metal contact surface of the plate down with paint preparation solution to clean any contaminants off the plate. Then heat the license plate or the bumper (gently) with a hair dryer or heat gun (be careful not to melt the bumper plastic). While the surface is warm or semi-hot stick the rubber tabs to that surface you heated. These two tips work in conjunction to cause the adhesive to setup and bind to the plastic bumber or the license metal better no matter the ambiant temperature may be, hot or cold. |
