I found this on amazon, would this be correct?
https://www.amazon.com/Deutsch-8-pin...4549705&sr=8-5

Is this basically just cutting the existing harness, and soldering it to the DTM harness on both ends to get the extra length? Hope my questions make sense, my electrical experience is less than average.

I appreciate you being the guinea pig with this!
I was going to do a How-To but with there already being one for removing the steering wheel/airbag and another few for adding aftermarket wheels/spacers, I didn't see the point. Really, once you have the spacer in hand it only goes one way and the only partially confusing part is making sure you don't mix the washer that comes with the spacer vs the OEM one on the 19mm steering wheel nut.

For the connector, you'd ideally want one that is 20awg or above, probably a 22awg if you can find one. But, yes, beyond that its' just cutting/matching/soldering. Extremely simple so long as you have a set of helping hands (or an extra set of hands).

Finally pulled the trigger on this and so glad I did! I had to extend the harness as well, but that was not too difficult.

Just remember to line up the steering wheel when installing. My first attempt I was a few splines off and the wheel was slightly turned when the car was pointed straight. It does trigger a traction control code if not aligned correctly.

Another thing to note is that the turn signal stalk does not move so now the left hand needs to come off the wheel to reach the stalk. Definitely a weird feeling, but worth the sacrifice.

So how did you solve the harness issue? Got a ready kit from somewhere to order?

I used this to extend the harness.

How many pins connector did you need? This one is not in stock currently, just to know what I should look for. Also, if you've got the link to the extender piece too, I'll be thankful

You need the 8-pin and the link to the extension is in the first post.

I see. After looking through my purchase history, the company is no longer actively selling on eBay. The spacer is still available through their website, but it seems like it is made to order now.

Thanks for the help. Any idea if these are the good option? They seem like the same ones as from the original post:

Truthfully, the type of connector/pigtail that you use doesn't matter so long as it has 8 pins. I used the DTM since it was what my friend had laying around. Just make sure that the pigtail you use is small since space is limited in that area.
