Difference between base and sport front bumper
Hey all, I have a 2009 Sport that I am in search of a front bumper cover.
Looking online at carparts.com there seems to be multiple variations of CAPA certified replacement bumpers (I am having the hardest time just finding a used one) 2009 Nissan 370Z - Bumper Cover - Front, 1 Piece, Primed, For Models Without Sport Package, Without Air Spoiler, CAPA Certified and 2009 Nissan 370Z - Bumper Cover - Front, 1 Piece, Primed, For Models With Sport Package, With Air Spoiler, CAPA Certified The issue is the Sport model bumper is "sold out" on every website I visit when it comes to the aftermarket CAPA certified versions (just trying to save a few hundred over an OEM front bumper)... Can someone please elaborate what the difference is between the sport and non-sport front bumpers? I am asking because on the pictures at carparts.com there is no noticeable difference between the two. If there is a difference I would obviously like to keep the bumper matching with my trim level. Maybe someone has pictures? Thanks |
As you can probably tell from the name of the parts, the difference is the Air Spoiler.
That would be the black pieces at the very bottom on both sides. https://hips.hearstapps.com/hmg-prod...-s-986x603.jpg They are not present on the base. https://cdn02.carsforsale.com/3/5476.../886329194.jpg https://portland.freeclassifieds.com...m4d8zzVfmUA==# |
Thank you very much, that is exactly what I was looking for. I imagine the only real difference is pre-drilled holes to secure the air spoiler between the two bumpers. Awesome!

That is odd.

The air guides just screw on - pretty easy to add. The chin spoiler is riveted on.
