Gentex Rearview Video Camera Mirror Now Available

Who's going to be the first to install this?

This is the same mirror that comes stock on the C8 Corvette and I expect to see it in the higher trim levels of the 400Z.

The good news for those with an existing Gentex mirror (including 2019+ with rearview display), it appears to be plug and play with our existing 12-pin power harness. Just a matter of routing a second coax cable going from the mirror to the rear hatch window for the new 2nd camera as you would with a rear facing dashcam.

$800 for a rearview mirror? Nope.

Well that depends how much you value your rear visibility. $800 can be alot cheaper than a potential accident. This mirror eliminates sports car rear visibility/blind spot issues; there is a reason this is on the new Corvettes.

I paid less than that for my Craftsquare mirrors and they eliminate blind spots as well :twocents:

Surprised at a Gentex product that expensive. I think I paid $50 for mine and the one with the small embedded LCD for rear view cam was only $150 at the time.

Rephrase - the entire surface is literally a screen, not a mirror.

Briefly drove next to a C8 driving at night, the rear view “mirror” did look nice from the outside.

You would think they would/could integrate a forward facing camera and make it a dashcam. Now that is something I would consider.

I do miss my stock rearview mirror cam on my old car that was totaled.
