Second Battery For Air Suspension and Audio System?

Hey, I currently have air suspension with one compressor, and I'm planning on adding a new sound system with a 1200w amp. I also have interior and exterior led lights.

Default Second Battery For Air Suspension and Audio System?

Hey, I currently have air suspension with one compressor, and I'm planning on adding a new sound system with a 1200w amp. I also have interior and exterior led lights. So I was told that if I wanted to add the new sound system with the 1200w amp that I would need to add a second battery or bigger alternator. my question, do I need to do this and if so which should I do? Second battery or new alternator?

I would go for a better alternator. I don't like the "just add second battery" mentality. Your current alternator has to charge both batteries. I'd say go a stronger alternator. Now, this changes if you want to run the system allot with the car off, in that case, another battery is the go to.

Thanks for the reply. I don't really run the sound with the car ever. so the alternator sounds like the way to go. Any idea on how big to go?

In terms of output needed, I'm not really sure. maybe someone who knows more in that department can chime in.

I'm also looking to eventually getting another alternator. I've had this one saved. Though i haven't looked into other ones too much yet.
