I already test with another battery of my friend. The problem is always present Keyfobs batteries are new (duracell CR2032). This problem occurred since the old battery died. Before it worked correctly. My car is from Germany and for register this car in France, I needed to wait 1 month so I didn't drive my car during this time... the old battery was died, so I changed to a new battery and since then I have the problem with keyfobs .... Some people reading this post must be thinking why I am not going to Nissan.. I already go to Nissan, they are not competent for resolve my issue. They haven't the 'Signal Tech-II (J-50190)' to test car/keyfob signal... they dont' know how to use CONSULT on Nissan 370z... I already go to many nissan dealer of Paris , I've same response from all. |

For what it's worth:
I recently experienced the same issue. Key fob suddenly stopped working, and my backup key fob also didn't work. I replaced batteries in both, and cleaned the contacts really well, but no dice. I double-checked the new fob batteries, and they registered 3.3 volts. So I figured the problem must be in the car's receiver. I was about to take the car to the Stealership when I decided to make a Hail Mary move: I bought another set of new fob batteries from a different store. Now both fobs work! There are two lessons here: 1. Even if a new battery shows full potential (i.e, voltage), it doesn't mean it has sufficient power. Sometimes batteries sit on store shelves for a long time and degrade before you even get them out of the package. 2. Occam's Razor. The simplest explanation for fobs not working is that you have dead batteries. Make triple-sure your batteries are fresh and good before moving on to other theories. Good luck! Steve |
