What to do with the three "non-functional" buttons in the center console
for those with a base model, i am sure you will agree with me.....:iagree:
those three "unused buttons" look horrendous...... with one, i am thinking about adding in the fog light, but how about the other two? not because i like the fog light, but to make use of the buttons on the center console..... any ideas or suggestions? has anyone tried aftermarket heated seats?:driving: |
Left: Rear fog
Center: Heated side mirrors (2009 did not get them) Right: Unknown Currently none of them are wired as I am working on other things currently. http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r.../IMAGE_010.jpg |
I am going to put my voice recognition switch into one of them but I haven't figured out exactly how yet. It has a smaller square base and I'm not handy with things like this. :)

fog light
get headlight mod and put switch to turn leds on/off paint the other one over with a happy face or something rofl or make another ash tray! |
Like with my Touring, the left and right are heated seats. Now that space in the center isn't all that noticeable but sine its there I might as well hook up the rear fog light to it. If you went with aftermarket heated seats, you could use the buttons out of a touring, for a nice OEM look.

i have a 2010 model, but it already has heated side mirror....
i searched internet for OEM heated seat buttoms, but i could not find any..... also, i do not know if it is a good idea to get heated seats.....never gone with an aftermarket heated seat product before..... also, the button for the aftermarket heated seats are horrendous................!!!!!! would it be possible to swap or replace the aftermarket knob/button with an OEM one...? it seems possible, but has anyone done it before?> |

There are a few other options for aftermarket switches, the ones in my pictures are very small and blend in with the black. Most people who have seen them think they are OEM, other people do not even notice them as if there is nothing there. |
I put in a Bass Control Knob (hd-rlc) that plugs into my JL Hd 900/5 amp for full subwoofer gain control.

I originally planned to add a remote control device for my radar detector, but it ended up being more of a reach than the radar itself on my windshield!
|
im thinking a rocket booster, machine guns, and oil slicks.
oh wait, im not james bond.... |

I have looked around but haven't been able to locate the OEM switch without the harness. If anybody could help I would appreciate it.

Better question, why did you post this in 2 places?

i figured this is both a topic for general discussion and interior/exterior..... am i violating anything? Quote:
would it not get in the way of shifting... it looks like it is sticking out..... wait, your car is AT............hmmmmmmmmm i think it might be a bit uncomfortable with 6 MT when shifting.. |
How about a flower holder like the VW Bug?
|
You could use one of the switches to make your car do this......if you need it in your state.

Officer, I dont' know what you're talking about; I have a front plate. I'm a law abiding citizen. I believe this may be harrassment because of (reason) and I'm driving a performance car. :nutswinger: |
I vote for at least one of them being an Eject button!!!
|
Gotta Hook one to the NAWS (NOS)

Dont the base models have heated seats? I only had 1 fake button and its now my nitrous switch
http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p...9/IMG_0474.jpg |
No, the base model has cloth seats with no heater.
|
Ah, thats gay, i thought all models had heated seats
|
not only do i have 3 non-functional buttons, i got 2 non-functional speakers in the back as well (they look like speakers but there is nothing inside)
|
you could use one for a remote LED on a hidden radar detector
maybe one as a remote passenger door popper, so you can let your lady in the last one for eject switch! :icon23: |
The middle switch is for functional rear fog light and outer switches are seat heaters (dummy). I got tired of people asking me why there are blank switches . So, I put seat heater switches to fill the gap.

Just FYI the rear fog light switch on the Canadian models is on the stalk switch by your headlights. There is a blank between the two heated seat (all Canadian cars are Touring) switches.
Looks great AK370Z - exactly what I'd do with a base model if I didn't have any other use for the switches... .... good place for a fake alarm LED as well - always a deterant. |
how about getting aftermarket heated seats?
has anyone done it in this forum? or is it too early? *^^* |
1) Blinder M27 Switch (3 way: Parking Assistance , OFF, Laser Jammer)
2) TBD (expect Rear Fogs) 3) TBD http://www.the370z.com/members/getme...d-good-use.jpg |

I want this switch but, without the harness for the rear fog. Anyone know where to find this ? And how much?
