I was thinking about mounting the Tein EDFC control unit there, but I'm not sure if it'll fit.

2 suggestions:
1. a muzzle switch that will shut my gf up. 2. take out the buttons and make another pocket for storage(cell phone, wallet, smokes, ect...) |

I decided to use the buttons for my head units aux and usb lines. I found a cover for the usb to keep it clean and smooth on top while not in use. I didnt want the lines just hanging out somewhere so I use the buttons as a holder and an easy access point. Works great!

hella clean buddy!!!!! ^^^^ did you just dremel out the port for the usb or buy it somewhere?

I put my headlight's LED controls on them.
Absolutely love these switches. Not sure what I'll do with that third blank though. |
So I have been tracking down the OEM foglight switch for days and here are some infos that I dug up.
The part number is: 25370-V5500 It seems that the switch is from Nissan Navara (Frontier in US) or X-Trail (Japan only) While I checked Courtesy Nissan for the part, Frontier has the cargo light switch instead of the fog light switch. Both switches are rocker type and exactly the same but with the text "Cargo Lamp" instead of the symbol. Here is the link to a Chinese manufacture that offers the switch: 2012 Nissan New X-Trail Head Light Switch(NT-P-2086) - Dongguan New Top Auto Parts Co., Ltd. http://images.gasgoo.com/MiMgIzA2MDI...-nt-p-2086.jpghttp://img7.imageshack.us/img7/8781/crdl.png I doubt that anyone would be brave enough to do a group-buy from this website since the minimum order is 500pcs! Lol :D |

Ok, found the switches many have been asking for & where to order them.
Website: Full Size Rocker Switches Many choices in terms of on/on, on/off, on/off/on, etc. Some shaving on the two outer pieces will be required if you do all 3 but not very much. |
thanks dreamer!!!

bump..wondering what I can do with mine

A few people have suggested garage door opener. This was basically what I was thinking too.
Has anyone actually gone down this route? I spoke to a local key cutter and they had a whole book on compatibilities between remotes and how they don't supply a "one remote opens all" remote. I might look at just adapting a button to short the button in a key chain remote to be stored under it. At the moment I'm renting so not guaranteed to keep the same garage door over the years. |

A trunk monkey would be awesome... would be a little worried about carrying one in a hatchback though :rofl2:

My left button is wired to a garage door opener which is tucked away inside the center console. The middle button operates my footwell lighting. The right button is a dummy until I think of something.
I originally just planned on hooking my footwell lighting up to the Z kick plates on each door. That works fine. But then I wanted to put in a switch to control them just like my dome light (On-Off-Door). The problem is that the Z kick plates are controlled by the ground wire of the kick plates. The power wire always has 12V on it from the battery. My first thought was to put my switch on the ground side, but then it would be possible to accidentally leave the footwell lighting on even when the key is removed. Long story short, I used the circuit shown in the attached pic, which switches between two circuits: Forward (ON): Accessory 12V power and Chassis ground Middle (OFF): Both circuits open so no footwell lights at all Back (DOOR): Z Kick plate 12V power and Z kick plate ground I normally leave it so it turns on with the dome light, but sometimes I put it on while I drive in rice mode.:happydance: |
brad- i wired up my rear fog lamp to one of the 3. if you dont have one already, might be a quick way to populate that one blank. :D
i also used one for my e-brake bypass for my stereo. |
A question regarding wiring one of these:
OTRATTW :: Switch w/Rocker :: Contura V :: Novelty :: Amber LED :: Lower Independent (Text Area) :: Amber/Amber :: CONTURA V, PASSENGER EJECT, LOWER LED INDEPENDENT The switch is configured so that the text is illuminated when the headlights are on, and when switched to the ON position it will also illuminate the seat icon. Would the proper way to connect it be to tap into the wire that also provides power to illuminate the heated seat switches in my Touring/Sport Model when the headlights are on and ground it somewhere with another wire ? I'm not quite understanding the wiring diagram on the website. It's probably not necessary to have the icon light up since it's not a truly functional switch (although it sure would be fun) but I would like the switch to illuminate when the headlights are on. Thanks |
