LRB Speed door cards
LRB Speed in Clearwater, FL has just finished up designing a set of aluminum door cards for the 370Z. These will shed approximately 8lbs from the car. Stock speaker placement is retained(or not, optional), as well as the mirror adjustment knob and window switches. Pull straps included. Landon is getting pricing on powdercoating today, but since this job has to be outsourced, he will need a minimum of 10 orders for this to become an option.
Note: I am in no way affiliated with this company and stand to make no commission or other financial gain other than the savings of the group buy price. It may be another day or so before we have a set group buy price as he's waiting on the powdercoat quote, but you guys will know as soon as I do. :tiphat: Update: pictures added https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7adf353ee5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...019862bde6.jpg |
not for me, but subbed for pics!

For only 3 lbs of weight savings it is not worth it in my eyes.
|
^ true, should have made them out of something lighter

What's the point? :icon14:
Three lbs of weight savings is laughable, and they're ugly :ugh: *edit* So my original post here was based on the thought that both panels saved 3 lbs total, which I felt was  I'm guessing the original post was 3 lbs per side ... and now the update to 8 lbs is a total of 4 lbs per side? Or maybe it was 3 lbs total before and now updated to 8 lbs total? Looking forward to seeing the finished product. As cv said, maybe a colored finish will hide the switch box. Seems kinda dumb to put a speaker in it if doing the mod for weight savings but whatever. To each their own. Didn't mean to sound so harsh :tiphat: |
What is the market for these? For racing they just throw everything out and leave the shell.

Nice idea for the folks that like to take their DD to the track.
For a dedicated track car, it's unnecessary weight. Seems like a solution looking for a problem with the speaker option. If one is all that worried about weight, why haul speakers (plus HU and wiring) around? |

3lbs for such small area isn’t bad, but the price + ugliness isn’t worth the 3lbs saves for me.
|
any carbon fiber options?
|
I just take the doors off of mine when I head to the track! Don't need no stinkin doors!:p
|
Not feeling this, just looks like it's a flat piece of metal attached to the door
|
There’s another option for guys who are looking for the same thing:

See OP for weight loss update

It appears as though we don't have enough interest for the powdercoating to be worth the extra transport trouble, so standard price is $220.
Speaker hole or not, no extra charge either way. This will retain full window usage w/ factory switches and mirror adjustment knob. Due to it being a pull strap, no manual (un)locking will be possible, but the button inside and the key fob locking function will still work as well. Pull straps are included w/ order of cards. Total weight savings of ~8lbs |
Man, I think this product is just missing a better looking windows switch box and a black powder coat away from looking much much more attractive.

As for the box, what change(s) would you recommend? |

Unless you need an arm rest on the sides, it actually creates a decent amount of space. You do lose the door vent, but it spread the air really well.

Update: cards actually came in Saturday. Dropped them off Monday for powdercoating, but apparently my guy is booked up, so it may be up to 2 weeks before I see them again.
I really thought I took more than this 1 picture of them, but can't seem to find them. Whatever. Here you go. They'll be black next time I see them. |
